Many of the world’s top golfers are gearing up for the Olympics in Paris, with the men’s competition set to take place at Le Golf National from 1-4 August. The field boasts eight of the world’s top 10 players, including two-time Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and four-time Major winner Rory McIlroy. Despite challenges in securing world ranking points, six players from the LIV Golf circuit, representing four different nations, have made it to the 60-player roster. Here’s a look at the LIV Golf stars who have confirmed their participation and their journeys to the Games.
#### **Joaquin Niemann – Chile**
Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann is having a stellar year, highlighted by two LIV Golf victories and solid performances in major tournaments. He secured his Olympic spot as the highest-ranked Chilean golfer, bolstered by a win at the Australian Open last December. Despite the competition, Niemann’s ranking remained strong, allowing him to return to the Olympics, where he finished T10 in the 2020 Games. Though many anticipated that fellow Chilean and Torque GC teammate Mito Pereira would also qualify, it’s Korn Ferry Tour standout Cristobal Del Solar who will join Niemann, thanks to a surge in world rankings.
#### **Abraham Ancer – Mexico**
Abraham Ancer is joined by fellow Mexican Carlos Ortiz, making up a notable LIV Golf presence from Mexico. Ortiz, another Torque GC player, clinched his Olympic berth through a series of strong performances, including a win at LIV Golf Houston and another at the V Copa Prissa on the Gira De Golf Professional Mexicana. His success in the International Series events in Oman and Macau further solidified his place, allowing him to move up to 240th in the world rankings. This will be his second Olympic appearance, following a T42 finish in 2020.
#### **Adrian Meronk – Poland**
Adrian Meronk’s qualification was never in serious doubt, given Poland’s limited representation in men’s professional golf. Despite a drop in his world ranking since joining LIV Golf, Meronk’s strong performances, including a runner-up finish at LIV Golf Houston, ensured his spot in the Olympics. However, his 2024 season has been challenging, with missed cuts in all three major tournaments so far. He aims to improve on his T51 finish at the Tokyo Olympics.
#### **Jon Rahm – Spain**
Jon Rahm, ranked among the world’s top 10, is set to make his Olympic debut in Paris. Although 2024 hasn’t matched his stellar 2023 season, which included a Masters victory, Rahm has consistently placed in the top 10 in his initial LIV Golf starts. Despite a disappointing Masters and PGA Championship and an unfortunate withdrawal from the US Open due to a foot injury, Rahm remains a strong contender. With two LIV Golf events in July and The Open at Royal Troon ahead of the Olympics, he has ample opportunity to regain momentum.
#### **David Puig – Spain**
David Puig is rapidly emerging as a notable talent within LIV Golf. The young Spaniard impressed with a third-place finish at LIV Golf Houston and has continued to perform well in other competitions. His success, including two victories on the Asian Tour and multiple top-10 finishes, has significantly improved his world ranking. Puig’s efforts have earned him his first appearance at the Olympics, marking a significant milestone in his career.
These players, representing the LIV Golf circuit, are poised to showcase their skills on the Olympic stage, adding to the anticipation and excitement of the men’s golf competition at the 2024 Paris
