On Tuesday, Scottie Scheffler was announced as one of the four American golfers selected to represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games this summer. This marks Scheffler’s first selection for Team USA, an honor well-deserved for the World No. 1 golfer.
Scheffler expressed his excitement on social media, calling the selection “unreal” and sharing his enthusiasm for representing his country in Paris. “Unreal. Looking forward to representing Team USA at the @olympics in Paris,” he wrote on Instagram.
Scheffler leads a strong U.S. team that includes Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Wyndham Clark. Both Schauffele and Morikawa are making their second Olympic appearances. Schauffele notably won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, while Morikawa narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth.
Scheffler has had an outstanding season on the PGA Tour, securing five wins, including a victory at the Masters at Augusta National. Despite a challenging performance at the U.S. Open last weekend, Scheffler’s status as the best golfer in the world solidifies his place in the Olympic competition in Paris this summer.
Scheffler is currently preparing for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands this weekend.
