PGA Tour Champions President, Miller Brady, is laying the groundwork for Tiger Woods’ anticipated debut on the men’s professional senior golf tour. Woods will become eligible to participate in Champions Tour events when he turns 50 in December of next year. While he has over a year to decide on his senior tour debut, Brady believes that if Woods chooses to play right away, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in January 2026 would be an “ideal” event for his first appearance.
“I just want Tiger to come out here and play a little bit,” Brady said, via Golfweek. “In an ideal situation, Tiger turns 50 and the Mitsubishi Electric (in January 2026) is his first start. Maybe you pair him with Fred Couples and they have a great time.”
Currently 48, Woods has faced significant challenges in simply walking the full 72 holes at PGA Tour events in recent years. The Champions Tour, which allows the use of carts at most non-major events, could offer Woods a way to extend his career by reducing the physical strain. This could also help him maintain his competitive edge if he chooses to continue participating in the men’s majors.
Whenever Woods ultimately decides to make his senior tour debut, the entire golf world will be watching with great anticipation.
