Bryson DeChambeau shows true colours after fan’s hat disrupted swing at LIV Andalucia

Bryson DeChambeau had a lighthearted moment during the latest LIV Golf event in Andalucia when a hat blew onto the course while he was taking an approach shot. Instead of letting the distraction bother him, DeChambeau picked up the hat, wore it briefly to entertain the fans, and then returned it to the staff, who gave it back to its owner.

DeChambeau, 30, is competing in Andalucia as a final preparation before heading to Scotland for The Open at Troon. He recently secured his second major win at the US Open in June, narrowly beating Rory McIlroy. In Andalucia, DeChambeau has been performing well, currently holding sixth place and shooting one-under-par in tough, windy conditions. His impressive play included an eagle on the 14th hole on Saturday.

Since his US Open victory, DeChambeau has enjoyed a boost in popularity. Initially criticized for joining LIV Golf and adopting the “bad boy” image, he has since won over many fans. His social media following has surged, with over 600,000 YouTube subscribers and 400,000 followers on TikTok.

This isn’t DeChambeau’s first memorable fan interaction this year. He previously had to address an incident where a fan intercepted a ball he intended to give to a young supporter.

As DeChambeau heads to The Open, he is considered one of the favorites alongside McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, and Ludvig Aberg.
