In an unexpected incident at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon, Jon Rahm’s caddie, Adam Hayes, was struck in the face by a golf ball hit by fellow LIV Golf pro Andy Ogletree. The mishap occurred while LIV Golf quartet Rahm, Ogletree, David Puig, and Phil Mickelson were playing the 6th hole. The moment was captured by NCG’s Hannah Holden.
The incident unfolded when Ogletree hit a wedge shot from the deep rough left of the green. Despite Hayes’s efforts to avoid the ball, he ended up jogging directly into its path.

Rahm addressed the media at Troon on Tuesday, humorously commenting on England following Spain’s victory in Euro 2024 on Sunday. He also revealed a personal concern: a complication with his wife’s pregnancy could impact his plans to compete in DP World Tour events later this season.
Earlier in the day, GolfMagic spoke with Sky Sports Golf’s Paul McGinley. The former European Ryder Cup captain expressed strong opinions about Rahm’s surprising $600 million move to LIV Golf at the end of 2023. McGinley believes Rahm is among the players most eager for a resolution between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
McGinley also noted that Rahm likely wanted to participate in the Scottish Open last week to prepare for links golf at The Open. Instead, Rahm had to compete at LIV Golf Andalucia at Valderrama, a venue that presented a very different challenge.
