The accomplished quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, a pivotal figure in the team’s success, is set to make his debut at Lambeau Field this Sunday when they face the Green Bay Packers. Despite not having played on this historic turf before, the anticipation is high, with both fans and Mahomes himself expressing excitement.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Mahomes shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I’ve watched it my whole entire life, and I know it’s going to be a hostile environment; the fans are going to be loud, it’s going to be a lot like Arrowhead is to other teams like you’re saying. I’m excited, if you love football, you love Lambeau Field. I’m excited to get the opportunity to play there.”
While Mahomes hasn’t showcased his skills at Lambeau Field, the Chiefs have been formidable in their performances, often relying on Mahomes’ leadership at Arrowhead Stadium. Despite Mahomes being sidelined with a knee injury in 2019, the Chiefs faced the Packers during the regular season and continued to excel.
Acknowledging the improved performance of the Green Bay Packers, Mahomes commented on their recent victories, particularly praising Jordan Love’s progress. “Jordan [Love] has gotten better and better every single game. They have playmakers everywhere, and their defense can play. It will be a great challenge for us, and they’re a hot football team that just beat another great football team, so they have confidence coming in. We’ve got to match that confidence and try to find a way to win a football game.”
