Brooks Koepka continues to solidify his place as a dominant force in LIV Golf, recently making history by becoming the first player to win five events on the Saudi-funded series. His latest victory at LIV Greenbrier not only set a new benchmark but also significantly boosted his already substantial earnings.
Since joining LIV Golf a little over two years ago, Koepka has shown little to no regret about his decision. His immediate success on the Saudi-backed circuit, coupled with his continued competitiveness in major tournaments, has reaffirmed his place among the sport’s elite. His most recent triumph at Greenbrier further cemented his status as a top star within the league, especially after clinching both the individual and team titles, earning a staggering £3.7 million ($4.75 million) in the process.
The victory did not come easy, as Koepka had to overcome formidable competition from Jon Rahm. The three-time PGA Championship winner seemed poised for victory before Koepka staged a comeback, defeating Rahm in a playoff. While Rahm took home a £1.7 million ($2.3 million) runner-up prize, Koepka’s triumph added to his already impressive earnings.
With this win, Koepka’s LIV Golf earnings for 2024 have now surpassed £9 million ($11.8 million), placing him fourth on the league’s money list with one regular-season event remaining. However, this figure represents only a portion of his total wealth accumulated since joining the rival tour.
Koepka’s success in LIV Golf is marked by consistency, with two event wins in each of the past two seasons. His total earnings from the series now amount to approximately £30 million ($38.8 million), including around £26 million ($33.5 million) in individual winnings and £3.9 million ($5 million) from team-based prizes.
Koepka’s achievements highlight his ability to excel independently, without relying heavily on team dynamics. His consistent performance has earned him the distinction of being the first player to top the leaderboard in five separate events.
Reflecting on his win at Greenbrier, Koepka expressed his satisfaction: “This is probably my favourite one. It’s always good when you have to battle good players. Jon is a hell of a player. For whatever reason, he has always gotten the better of me a little bit as of late. It feels nice just to get one.”
As the season progresses, Koepka will have his sights set on one more win at LIV Chicago in September, where he has the chance to overtake Joaquin Niemann at the top of the money list. Following that, all eyes will be on the Team Championship in Dallas, where Koepka and his teammates will compete for a substantial payday in the season finale.
