The conclusion of the 2024 US Open has caused a significant shift in the WTA rankings. While Iga Swiatek remains at the top with 10,885 points, Aryna Sabalenka’s title-winning performance in New York has closed the gap, bringing her total to 8,716 points. Jessica Pegula, who lost to Sabalenka in the final, climbed three spots to return to her career-best ranking at No. 3. Despite an early exit in the second round, Elena Rybakina holds steady at No. 4, while Jasmine Paolini remains unchanged at No. 5 after a fourth-round finish.
Coco Gauff, last year’s champion, saw her title defense end in the fourth round, leading to a three-spot drop to No. 6. Zheng Qinwen’s quarterfinal appearance didn’t change her ranking, and she stays at No. 7. Emma Navarro’s breakthrough year continued as she reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at the US Open, defeating Gauff along the way. Navarro’s performance earned her a four-spot jump to a new career-high of No. 8. Meanwhile, Barbora Krejcikova and Maria Sakkari each fell one position to No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
Just outside the top 10, Anna Kalinskaya reached the third round of the US Open, pushing her to a new career-high of No. 14. Her compatriot, Diana Shnaider, went one round further and rose to No. 16, marking her best ranking to date. Despite a first-round exit at the US Open, Lulu Sun achieved her career-high debut in the top 40 at No. 39. Elina Avanesyan entered the top 50 for the first time at No. 50, while Ashlyn Kreuger’s third-round finish in New York helped her jump eight places to a new peak of No. 51.
Jessica Bouzas Maneiro continued her strong form with a third-round appearance, rising 14 spots to No. 60. Erika Andreeva (No. 68), Harriet Dart (No. 70), and Renata Zarazua (No. 85) also reached new career-highs this week.
