“Nick Kyrgios Takes a Jab at Jannik Sinner’s US Open 2024 Win After Piers Morgan Highlights Failed Drug Tests”

Posted on September 9, 2024

Jannik Sinner stormed to victory at the 2024 US Open on Sunday, but his win didn’t sit well with everyone, including Nick Kyrgios. British broadcaster Piers Morgan stirred the pot by referencing the Italian’s past failed drug tests following the match. In response, Kyrgios quickly jumped in with a sarcastic comment.

Less than a month ago, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) revealed that Sinner had twice tested positive for the banned substance Clostebol in March during the Indian Wells tournament. Although Sinner was initially handed a provisional suspension, he was allowed to continue competing after appealing the decision. The case remained under wraps until August when the ITIA cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Since then, the 23-year-old’s presence on the court has sparked controversy, with Kyrgios previously calling the situation “ridiculous” in a post on X when the news of Sinner’s failed tests first broke. Despite his triumph over Taylor Fritz at the US Open, many were displeased with his victory. Piers Morgan took to X to celebrate, posting “Sinner Sinner US Open Winner,” which only fueled further debate.
