Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown stirred up controversy again over the weekend, taking aim at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on social media. While Kelce was busy setting a Kansas City Chiefs team record for most career receptions, Brown launched a harsh and inappropriate attack on both the all-pro tight end and his globally famous girlfriend.
Brown implied a racist and misogynistic reason for Kelce’s early season struggles in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Swift, who had been present at the Chiefs’ first two home games, was notably absent for the second consecutive game, leading to speculation about the status of her relationship with Kelce. However, outlets like TMZ and the Daily Mail have debunked rumors of a breakup.
The Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday came after an alleged “breakup date” that had been part of a fake “leaked” contract regarding the couple’s relationship last month.
This isn’t the first time Brown has targeted Swift. Previously, after taking aim at Gisele Bundchen, the ex-wife of his former teammate Tom Brady, Brown posted an AI-generated image of himself in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform kissing Swift, who was dressed in a cheerleader outfit. The post, which has since been deleted, was captioned: “Move over Jizelle, what these Swifties talkin bout? #CTESPN.”
In July, Brown also shared a satirical image depicting what Kelce and Swift might look like in 2040. Despite the antics, Kelce once revealed that Brown was one of his favorite social media personalities to follow.
Earlier this year, when Kelce broke the NFL record for most postseason receptions during the Chiefs’ playoff run, Brown referred to him as one of the “dopest crackers” he knew. Kelce responded humorously on his *New Heights* podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
“I appreciate you, AB, man. Feels good to be one of the dopest crackers,” Travis said, laughing. “He’s one of my favorite follows on Twitter. You’ve got to follow him.”
