Green Bay, Wis. – Jordan Love has emerged as a key figure for the Green Bay Packers, steering the team to success with a remarkable series of performances after initially taking over for Aaron Rodgers. Recently, he earned recognition not just for his on-field prowess but also for his off-field heroics during a blizzard in the Green Bay area.
Love’s impact didn’t go unnoticed, as he secured a spot on Pro Football Focus’ All-Breakout Team, being named the Breakout Player of the Year. Despite missing out on a Pro Bowl nod, Love’s stats speak volumes about his growth during the season.
In the first half, PFF ranked Love 24th out of 33 quarterbacks, but he made an impressive leap in the second half, trailing only the 49ers’ Brock Purdy. Over the final eight games, Love showcased elite-level quarterback play, leading in passing yards, boasting an impressive touchdown-to-interception ratio, and securing a high passer rating.
Love’s performance both on and off the field has fulfilled the Packers’ expectations following the departure of the four-time MVP, Aaron Rodgers. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich highlighted the positive impact of having a young leader like Love, fostering open dialogue and a collaborative approach among the team.
Joining Love on PFF’s All-Breakout Team is right tackle Zach Tom. Despite facing elite pass rushers throughout the season, Tom allowed only two sacks and demonstrated significant improvement as a run blocker, earning praise from PFF’s grades.
While preseason predictions had Christian Watson projected to make the All-Breakout Team as a receiver, injuries limited his appearances to just nine games. The Packers, however, successfully leaned on their talented group of rookies to navigate the challenges of the season.
As the Packers gear up for the playoffs, the emergence of Jordan Love and Zach Tom stands out as a testament to the team’s resilience and the promising future ahead. Will Love continue to be the hero in his playoff debut against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday? Packers fans eagerly await the answer.
