CBS reporter Amanda Balionis has launched a major initiative to support communities in the Southeastern United States impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Through her non-profit organization, Puppies and Golf, Balionis has raised over $10,000 to aid in relief efforts.
The golf and NFL broadcaster has collaborated with five animal shelters to provide crucial support for animals in need. Recently, she shared a significant update on Instagram, announcing that two additional shelters, FOTAS Aiken and Augusta Animal Services, have been added to the list of beneficiaries. Initially setting a fundraising goal of $10,000, the donations quickly surpassed this target, boosted by a matching contribution from an anonymous donor.
Balionis also revealed that her non-profit has expanded its efforts by partnering with Intown Golf Club. This new partnership will facilitate in-kind donations at Intown Golf Club’s locations in Atlanta and Charlotte. In her latest Instagram post, the 39-year-old broadcaster also shared a fundraising link and outlined various ways people can contribute to the cause.
Her post included a list of actions supporters can take, such as donating through the fundraiser link, purchasing items from the shelters’ Amazon wishlist via the link in her Instagram bio, and bringing in-kind donations to designated drop-off locations. The list of required items can be found in her Instagram bio and on Puppies and Golf’s most recent post.
