The Cleveland Browns (7-4) are set to face the L.A. Rams (5-6) today, opting for the seasoned 38-year-old Joe Flacco at quarterback. This decision follows the sidelining of rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, currently in the concussion protocol due to a hit against the Denver Broncos.
The Browns express confidence in Flacco, considering him the next man up at QB, emphasizing his wealth of experience as an NFL starter. Drafted by the Ravens in 2008, Flacco notably led them to a Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers in 2013, earning Super Bowl MVP honors.
Having played with the Ravens until 2018, Flacco has also donned the jerseys of the Broncos and the Jets. In his stint with the Jets last season, he posted five touchdowns and three interceptions in five games, yielding an average passer rating of 75.2. Notably, one of those victories was against Cleveland.
As Flacco takes the field, the Browns are optimistic about his ability to withstand the formidable challenge posed by Aaron Donald and the Rams’ pass rush. Hoping for a 28-24 victory, the Browns anticipate Flacco’s seasoned skills to contribute to their success on the road.
