Simone Biles recently expressed support for her husband, Jonathan Owens, following the Green Bay Packers’ loss, marking the end of their NFL season. In an Instagram Story on Sunday, January 21, Biles, 26, shared her sentiments after the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Packers 24-21 the day before. The accompanying video showcased the couple embracing on the field and sharing kisses.

Prior to the game on Saturday, January 20, Biles had shared another Instagram Story, featuring her sweetly kissing Owens on the field, accompanied by words of encouragement. “Good luck today baby,” she wrote, adding “go 34” in reference to Owens’ jersey number. She expressed her pride in him, saying, “Let’s do the damn thing! I’m so proud of you.”

The Olympic gold medalist and Owens, 28, tied the knot in April 2023 after three years of dating. Owens garnered attention a few months after their wedding when he proclaimed himself the “catch” in their relationship during a December 2023 episode of “The Pivot” podcast. Despite initial reservations about commitment, he acknowledged Biles’ role in pulling him into the relationship, recounting how she messaged him on the dating app Raya in 2020.

Biles, present during the podcast, playfully laughed at Owens’ comments, predicting that in a “few years,” she would be more recognized as “Jonathan Owens’ wife” than he is known as “Simone Biles’ husband” now.

However, Owens’ remark stirred controversy, prompting NFL stars Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce to share their thoughts on their “New Heights” podcast. When Jason mentioned that Travis was nominated for Athlete of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, he humorously questioned Simone Biles’ inclusion, suggesting it was odd that she was nominated, but her boyfriend wasn’t. Travis, in response, hinted that Owens might not have enough playtime to secure a spot on the list, with Jason joking about the nomination being “so weird” given the dynamics.
