Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Reunite to Support Son Charlie at High School Golf Tournament
Golf legend Tiger Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, recently reunited to cheer on their 15-year-old son, Charlie Woods, during his high school golf tournament. The proud parents watched as Charlie, representing Benjamin School, helped his team secure a spot in the state championships at the Class 1A Regional 4 tournament at Miami Shores Country Club on Monday.
Representing the Buccaneers, Charlie showed resilience after a challenging start, contributing to his team’s second-place finish with a total score of 3-under par—just four strokes behind event winners Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest, who scored a 7-under par to claim the victory. Charlie demonstrated his skill and focus on the course, bouncing back from bogeys on the 2nd, 3rd, and 8th holes with impressive birdies on the 6th, 12th, and 13th holes to finish the round at even par.
Tiger Woods, recovering from a recent back surgery, followed his son closely around the course from a golf cart. The 48-year-old, still sporting a black sleeve on his leg from a previous leg injury sustained in a 2021 car accident, wore a relaxed outfit of a white cap, polo shirt, navy shorts, and sunglasses. Elin, 44, also showed her support, at times riding along with Tiger in the cart, according to reports from the Palm Beach Post. Wearing a white sun hat and a Buccaneers-branded long-sleeve T-shirt, she greeted Charlie with a hug after he secured par on the 18th hole.
Throughout the day, Tiger mostly observed silently, only briefly chatting with Charlie after a birdie on the 12th hole. His quiet support allowed Charlie to stay focused and competitive. Charlie’s coach told Palm Beach Post that the young golfer tends to be “tough on himself” and that learning to relax and channel his energy is part of his growth process. “He’s just young,” the coach noted, adding that “he’s got a lot of Dad in him.”
This regional achievement follows Benjamin School’s recent victory in the district championships, marking another significant milestone for Charlie and his team. The Buccaneers, who are aiming to defend their state title, will compete in the state championships scheduled for November 12-13 at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills. The Benjamin School golf program has a strong history, having won four state titles, and they are looking for a fifth win.
Woods and Nordegren, who share two children—Charlie and his 17-year-old sister, Samantha—are expected to attend the upcoming state tournament to support their son. Despite their highly publicized divorce in 2010, which came after Woods admitted to infidelity, the two have successfully rebuilt their relationship and maintained a co-parenting partnership over the years. Woods and Nordegren were married for nearly six years before their split, during which Nordegren reportedly received a $100 million divorce settlement.
Today, both have moved forward in their personal lives. Elin is currently dating former NFL player Jordan Cameron, with whom she has three children. Meanwhile, Tiger has continued to compete and play a role in his children’s lives, even as he recovers from a series of surgeries, including a recent ankle surgery and his latest back surgery. The two parents’ united presence at Charlie’s tournaments has been a heartening display of support and dedication to their son’s athletic journey.
