World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been enjoying the luxurious comforts of a £100 million private jet as he recuperates from a serious injury that forced the cancellation of his highly-anticipated clash with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed title.
The British boxing star reveled in the opulence of the plane, equipped with its own cinema, double bedroom, dining area, and a designated ‘entourage area’ as he made his journey back home from Saudi Arabia, only to be greeted by torrential rain in his hometown of Morecambe, Lancashire.
Photos shared on his Instagram account depicted the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’, aged 35, relaxing in the lavish confines of a private cabin aboard an Airbus ACJ319.
Notably, Fury had previously showcased photos and videos of a different private jet he had taken for a ‘little trip’ to the Saudi capital of Riyadh last December.
The much-anticipated showdown between Fury and his Ukrainian rival Usyk, aged 37, was initially slated to occur in Riyadh on February 17 but was postponed following Fury’s severe injury sustained during sparring the previous Friday, resulting in a significant cut above his right eye.
The rescheduled bout is now set for May 18, necessitated by the injury that required Fury to undergo a procedure involving 15 stitches after an inadvertent elbow from Agron Smakici during training.
Images of Fury’s return journey exhibited him seated aboard the private jet alongside his nutritionist Greg Marriott and strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock.
The 19-seat aircraft, boasting an average speed of 850km per hour, provides ample legroom, accommodating up to seven individuals for comfortable sleeping arrangements, as indicated by Airbus. Additionally, it offers a private two-bed room and ample storage space for 90 large suitcases. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi internet access, along with entertainment options such as CDs, DVDs, and iPads. The flight crew consists of two pilots, two flight attendants, and a flight support engineer.
Described on Airbus’s website, the corporate ACJ319 boasts the most spacious cabin in its class coupled with intercontinental performance. Notable features include a generously-sized lounge area with a dining table, a private bedroom with two full-flat beds and a private bathroom, as well as a designated entourage area at the rear.
Blacklock further shared a photo on his Instagram story, accompanied by the caption: ‘Team home, but we will continue the good work. Significant progress has been achieved over the past four months, which can be further enhanced! Always extract the positives from adverse situations.’
