Tiger Woods, renowned for his extraordinary accomplishments on the golf course, has been awarded the prestigious Bob Jones Award by the USGA, marking a testament to his unparalleled commitment to sportsmanship and respect for golf’s traditions.
Throughout his illustrious career, Woods has amassed an impressive record, clinching 15 major titles among his 82 victories on the PGA Tour. His influence transcends mere statistics, as highlighted by Mike Whan, CEO of the USGA, who emphasized that Woods’ impact extends far beyond his on-course performances. He has left an indelible mark on the game, shaping its image and inspiring future generations.
In addition to his on-course achievements, Woods has been honored with induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2022 and was bestowed with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Donald Trump in 2019.
Expressing his gratitude, Woods took to social media to thank the USGA for selecting him for this esteemed accolade. His exceptional record includes nine USGA championships, including victories in the U.S. Junior Amateur, U.S. Amateur, and the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, Bethpage Black, and Torrey Pines.

He established the TGR Foundation, dedicated to providing educational opportunities and promoting STEM-based learning through initiatives such as the TGR Learning Lab in California. Additionally, Woods has ventured into golf course design, with one of his courses in Cabo San Lucas hosting a PGA Tour event.
The award ceremony is set to take place on June 12 during the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina, where Woods will join the esteemed list of previous recipients, including legends such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Mickey Wright, Ben Hogan, and former President George H.W. Bush.
