Green Bay Packers’ star running back, Aaron Jones, made a triumphant return to practice on Thursday after concerns of a season-ending knee injury loomed just weeks ago. The team, gearing up for Monday night’s clash against the New York Giants, welcomed back Jones, who missed crucial victories over the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs due to a sprained MCL suffered against the Chargers. This marked his first practice session since the injury.
During the practice session, Jones, under the watchful eyes of reporters, seamlessly executed a full range of individual drills, including handoffs, footwork exercises, and pass protection. When questioned about Jones’ workload, coach Matt LaFleur kept it concise, stating, “He was limited.”
Despite Jones’ impressive track record of surpassing 1,050 rushing yards in three of the last four seasons and achieving 1,150 scrimmage yards in four consecutive seasons, this year has presented challenges. Hampered by hamstring and knee injuries, Jones has accumulated 245 rushing yards and 169 receiving yards in seven games this season. As he returns to the fold, the Packers anticipate his resurgence as a pivotal asset in their upcoming matchups.
