Chamblee expressed disappointment in Phil Mickelson, suggesting that Mickelson has turned his back on the game of golf and could have left it in a better state.

When asked about the unsung hero of the conflict that began in 2022, Chamblee pointed to Steinberg’s role. He emphasized that Steinberg’s players, including Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and others represented by Excel Sports Management, did not join LIV Golf despite potential lucrative offers.

Chamblee criticized agents who push their players toward deals for personal gain, noting that Steinberg has acted in the best interest of his clients by advising against joining LIV Golf.

He praised players like Will Zalatoris for demonstrating character and ethical values by turning down significant offers from LIV Golf despite facing career uncertainties.

Recent developments, including a meeting between Tiger Woods, PGA Tour officials, and Saudi businessman Yasir Al-Rumayyan, chairman of PIF (LIV’s financier), hint at a potential resolution. However, former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley cautioned that a resolution might still be years away, as both parties remain far apart in their positions.
