Tiger Woods, in response to Jon Rahm’s departure, has bolstered his TGL team at Jupiter Links GC by adding three notable names. Co-founder of the league with Rory McIlroy, Woods is gearing up for the inaugural season in 2025, representing his hometown of Jupiter.
Five months into owning the Jupiter franchise, Woods has recruited PGA Tour veteran Kevin Kisner, six-time winner Max Homa, and rising South Korean star Tom Kim. Despite setbacks, such as the postponement of the league’s launch from 2024 to 2025 due to damage to their purpose-built SoFi Center stadium, Woods remains optimistic.
The search for two more additions to complete their roster continues after Jon Rahm’s departure to LIV Golf, opting for the Saudi switch. Rahm strategically signed his Ryder Cup ally Hatton for his newly-minted LIV team, Legion XIII, leading to Hatton’s removal from the TGL roster due to commitments to the controversial LIV series.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the league and his team, Woods stated, “I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product. Now that we have finalized our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come.”
Homa’s inclusion is particularly notable given his meteoric rise in the golfing world over the past three years, including five victories and a commendable Ryder Cup debut. Thrilled at the prospect of playing alongside a legend like Tiger Woods, Homa said, “Following Tiger’s career is one of the main reasons that I became an avid golfer. I remember watching him win the 1997 Masters, and now getting to play alongside him has been amazing.”
He added, “It’s really exciting to call Tiger, Tom, and Kevin teammates. Thanks to TGL, I’ll be able to play with some of the best golfers in the world and bring this unique and exciting format to golf while also finding ways to connect with one of the best golf markets in the country in South Florida.”
