Tiger Woods recently unveiled his highly anticipated clothing line, Sun Day Red, marking a significant milestone in his post-Nike career. After 27 years with the sportswear giant, Woods parted ways with Nike earlier this year, sparking excitement among his devoted fans for what would come next.
The golf legend made a splash with the official launch of Sun Day Red, which coincided with his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York. During the late-night interview, Woods shared insights into the inspiration behind his new line, emphasizing the focus on athlete-centric design to enhance performance.
Named after his iconic Sunday red outfits, which have become synonymous with his final-day appearances in tournaments, Sun Day Red pays homage to Woods’ mother, Kultida, who believed red to be his “power color.” Woods humorously recounted how his mom’s superstition led to him donning red attire for junior golf tournaments, resulting in success that cemented the color’s significance in his wardrobe.
The Sun Day Red collection features a range of premium apparel and on-course accessories, including polo shirts, hoodies, shorts, pants, hats, gloves, and towels. However, fans eager to sport Woods’ signature look must be prepared to invest, as prices for the line’s items range from $40 for hats to $200 for hoodies.
Woods’ partnership with TaylorMade has been instrumental in bringing Sun Day Red to fruition, with the golf icon showcasing the brand during his return to competitive play at the Genesis Invitational. At Riviera Country Club, Woods sported the Sun Day Red logo—a tiger emblem with 15 stripes, symbolizing his record-breaking 15 major championship victories—underscoring the brand’s connection to his illustrious career.
While Woods notably wore his own merchandise, including a red polo, at The Masters, it’s ironic that Sun Day Red launched without red polos initially available on the website. Nevertheless, the debut of Sun Day Red marks a new chapter for Woods as he continues to leave his mark on the world of golf, both on and off the course.
