Before becoming the world’s No. 1 ranked golfer, Dallas native Scottie Scheffler was a standout player for the University of Texas golf team. Excelling both on the course and in the classroom, Scheffler was a key member of UT’s top-ranked golf team. In 2016, he was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, which requires a GPA of 3.2 to 4.0, though his exact GPA wasn’t specified. Scheffler, a finance major, earned this honor alongside teammates Gavin Hall and Taylor Funk.
