Scottish golf star Bob MacIntyre has issued a stern warning to a drone operator at the Canadian Open, threatening to “go mental” if the drone doesn’t stay out of his way. The golfer from Oban is currently leading the tournament by three shots in the final round at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club. With just nine holes remaining, MacIntyre is in a strong position to secure his first PGA Tour win, with his father serving as his caddie. The European Ryder Cup player is at 16 under par, but the presence of TV drones is proving to be a major distraction.
During the round, MacIntyre had to back off from a shot as a drone flew over his head. This incident is not isolated, as drones have previously caused issues on the course. MacIntyre’s frustration was evident, and he was caught on camera expressing his annoyance, saying: “I’m gonna give him one last chance before I go mental at him.”
As MacIntyre aims to maintain his lead and achieve a significant career milestone, the drone’s interference is an unwelcome challenge. The golf star’s focus remains on finishing strong and securing the top spot in the tournament.
