MacIntyre’s journey began in 2018 on the Challenge Tour, where he aimed for promotion to the DP World Tour. That year, he achieved five top-ten finishes, narrowly missing out on victories twice in playoffs. At the season-ending Ras Al Khaimah Challenge Tour Grand Final, he secured the 15th and final promotion spot with a sixth-place finish, highlighted by a crucial long putt on the final day.
On the DP World Tour, MacIntyre quickly found consistency, notching seven top-ten finishes in his debut season. He claimed his first victory at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown the next season and his second title at the DS Automobiles Italian Open two years later, winning a playoff against Matthew Fitzpatrick.
In 2023, MacIntyre’s impressive form earned him a spot in the Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, where he went unbeaten, earning 2.5 points from three outings. His strong performance in the Race to Dubai secured him a spot on the PGA TOUR.
Now, at 27 years, 9 months, and 30 days old, MacIntyre is a winner on both the DP World Tour and the PGA TOUR. Reflecting on his triumph, MacIntyre said: “Goosebumps. It’s incredible. It’s a dream of mine to play golf for a living and to win on the PGA TOUR, especially with my dad on the bag. He taught me how to play, and we fought hard together. I can’t believe I’ve won on the PGA TOUR.”
The victory boosts MacIntyre to a career-high 39th in the Official World Golf Ranking and qualifies him for the U.S. Open later this month.
