Tiger Woods’ much-anticipated TaylorMade apparel line, Sun Day Red, was officially unveiled on Monday amidst great excitement at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The event, hosted by Woods himself at the Riviera Country Club, provided the perfect backdrop for the launch, with Getty Images releasing images of the new collection simultaneously. Here’s an exclusive sneak peek at what to expect from this emerging brand.
The collection showcased at the event features six men’s apparel pieces, all in collaboration with TaylorMade. Among them are two golf shirts, two hoodies, a full-zip jacket, and a quarter-zip pullover, generating significant buzz, especially surrounding the latter. Additionally, samples of golf shoes, gloves, headcovers, ball markers, and hats have been previewed. While the Sun Day Red website is live, eager fans will have to wait until May 1st to get their hands on the products.

At the heart of the line is Woods’ iconic red golf shirt, featuring a three-button placket, minimalist collar, and the Sun Day Red logo prominently displayed on the chest. It’s poised to become the signature polo of Woods’ upcoming season on the course.

Adding a touch of boldness to the collection is a second golf shirt adorned with a striking black and gray abstract design, seemingly inspired by the stealth and prowess of a tiger stalking its prey.
Perhaps the most eye-catching piece is the black hoodie, adorned with the new SDR tiger logo. Unlike Nike’s TW logo launched with Woods in 2001, this emblem depicts a wild tiger leaping across the hoodie, with 15 stripes paying homage to Woods’ 15 majors. Woods himself hinted that the logo might undergo a redesign should he secure another major victory.
According to the brand’s website, every aspect of Sun Day Red, from the seams to the stitches, reflects the meticulousness and unwavering focus that have defined Woods’ legendary career.
Rumors of the partnership gained momentum in January following the discovery of a trademark filed by TaylorMade, showcasing the abstract tiger logo and Sunday Red name. Woods’ departure from Nike on January 8 further fueled speculation about this new chapter in his career.
Wearing red has long been synonymous with Woods, influenced by the significance of the color as a symbol of power in Thailand, his mother’s homeland. Throughout his illustrious 27-year tenure with Nike, Woods’ Sunday Reds have been showcased in various styles, from traditional golf shirts to mocknecks, sweaters, and vests, consistently flying off shelves at Nike stores.
While Woods made the switch to FootJoy shoes at the 2022 Masters, he is expected to stick with the brand, at least in the short term. The trademark filing includes footwear among 40 other product categories, ranging from golf shirts to eyewear to luggage, hinting at an expansive and exciting future for the Sun Day Red brand.
