Scottie Scheffler, securing his second Masters win in three years, is set to return home to his wife Meredith, this time with another green jacket in his possession. After shooting a final-round 68 and finishing 11-under par for the weekend, the reigning world No. 1 shared a heartfelt message to his pregnant wife in a post-tournament interview with CBS from Bunker Cabin.
“I’ll be home as quick as I can,” Scheffler expressed, as reported by Golf.com. “I love you and I’m coming home.”
Meredith, who married Scheffler in 2020, couldn’t attend this year’s tournament as she is due to give birth at the end of the month. Scheffler had assured reporters earlier in the week that he would be ready to leave at a moment’s notice if Meredith went into labor.
“As far as her going into labor, I wouldn’t say I’m very concerned, we haven’t seen any of the early signs, but pregnancy is weird and it can happen at any time. But, yeah, open lines of communication and she can get ahold of me if she needs to,” he mentioned after the opening round.
Reflecting on impending parenthood, Scheffler admitted to feeling somewhat underprepared. “People have asked us how our preparation is going for the baby and it’s like, well, I feel like we are a little underprepared. The nursery isn’t quite ready and we’ve had some issues at our house the last few weeks. I think that’s the exciting part. I think we are definitely underprepared to be parents,” he candidly confessed.

While Meredith missed this year’s Masters, she was there to witness Scheffler’s first green jacket victory in April 2022, sealing the moment with a kiss after he edged out Rory McIlroy in the final round. With Sunday’s win marking his second major victory, Scheffler intends to cherish this triumph as another life-altering moment draws near.

“I will go home, soak in this victory tonight,” Scheffler expressed, as reported by USA Today. “I will definitely enjoy the birth of my first child. But with that being said, I still love competing. My priorities will change here very soon. My son or daughter will now be the main priority, along with my wife, so golf will now be probably fourth in line. But I still love competing. I don’t plan on taking my eye off the ball anytime soon, that’s for sure.”
