Former tennis star Andrea Petkovic recently discussed Jannik Sinner’s US Open victory in a post on her Substack blog. The German athlete also voiced her strong disapproval of Nick Kyrgios’s controversial comments, particularly referencing the infamous second serve remark he made under an old photo of himself with Anna Kalinskaya, who is currently Jannik’s girlfriend.
“His jabs on social media make me both sad and angry, but mostly sad. He has the potential to be brilliant on TV, but he continues to sabotage himself with misogynistic nonsense. I might not be a fan of his on-screen style, but his content is excellent. Nick speaks positively about women’s tennis on air, but if he undermines it online, eventually, people will stop taking him seriously,” Petkovic stated.
Turning her focus back to tennis, Petkovic praised Sinner’s performance on the court, noting his impeccable movement and balance during play.
“For those who find his tennis boring, I encourage you to watch him live if you get the chance. The way he moves, always perfectly balanced, with his body slightly leaning forward as if skiing down a slope—it’s a beautiful sight. No matter how hard you hit the ball at him, he never loses his balance,” she added.
