Donald Trump Rushed Off Stage After Shots Fired at Pennsylvania Rally; Bryson DeChambeau Among First to Offer Support
In a shocking incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage after shots were fired. Among the first to offer support was golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who condemned the violence on social media.
DeChambeau expressed his sentiments on X, posting: “Violence deserves no place in this world. Praying for President Trump and his family. Wishing for a speedy recovery.”
The incident occurred as Trump began addressing a large crowd. Suddenly, a series of popping sounds caused Trump to duck and clutch his neck. Secret Service agents quickly surrounded him and rushed him off stage. Before being whisked away, Trump raised his fist defiantly as blood appeared to trickle down his ear.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi later confirmed that Trump was safe, adding: “This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.”
Trump’s spokesperson, Steven Cheung, expressed gratitude to law enforcement and first responders for their swift action. He also revealed that the 78-year-old former president was fine and receiving treatment at a local medical facility.
In a message shared on Truth Social, Trump praised the quick response of the Secret Service and law enforcement. He extended condolences to the family of the person killed at the rally and to another who was badly injured. He recounted his experience, saying, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear… Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
Trump has often spoken of his friendship with LIV Golf star DeChambeau. DeChambeau has praised Trump’s golfing skills and expressed gratitude for their relationship and support from the Trump Organization.
Following his 2024 US Open win last month, DeChambeau celebrated with Eric Trump at Pinehurst No. 2. Trump praised DeChambeau’s performance on Truth Social, highlighting his “toughness and inner strength” and his spectacular sand save on the 18th hole that secured his victory.
