Charlie Woods, son of golf icon Tiger Woods, is gearing up for an exciting challenge this summer as he prepares to compete in the prestigious Press Thornton Future Masters tournament in Dothan. At just 15 years old, Charlie, hailing from Jupiter, Florida, has already made waves in the golfing world with his impressive skills.
Scheduled to take place from June 22nd to June 29th at the esteemed Dothan Country Club, the 75th edition of the tournament boasts a lineup of 255 talented players in the 15-18 age group, alongside hundreds more across other age categories, including 13-14, 11-12, and 10-under.
While Charlie may have faced disappointment in a recent U.S. Open qualifier, failing to progress, his journey has been far from devoid of success. Having shared the fairways with his father in various events, notably the 36-hole PNC Championship over the past four years, Charlie is no stranger to high-pressure situations on the golf course.
The Future Masters tournament, with its illustrious history dating back to 1950, prides itself on being the ultimate testing ground for tomorrow’s PGA champions. Among its distinguished list of past victors are household names such as U.S. Open titans Hubert Green and Jerry Pate, Masters maestro Larry Mize, as well as modern stars like Stewart Cink, Robby Shelton, and Nick Dunlap.
Standing as the lone offspring of Tiger Woods, whose remarkable career boasts an incredible 15 PGA Tour major triumphs, Charlie carries a weight of expectation matched only by his potential. As he prepares to tee off in the Future Masters, all eyes will undoubtedly be on the young prodigy, eagerly awaiting to witness the next chapter in the Woods golfing dynasty.
