Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone delivered a spectacular performance at the Paris Olympic Games, where she set a new world record for the sixth time and claimed the Olympic gold medal in the 400m hurdles. Her impressive run in Paris has drawn heartfelt admiration from her husband, Andre Levrone.
Competing at the iconic Stade de France, McLaughlin-Levrone dominated the competition, winning her first round with a remarkable time of 53.60 seconds. She then continued her stellar performance in the semifinals, clocking 52.13 seconds. Her achievements in the French capital have solidified her status as one of the greatest 400m hurdles athletes in the world.
Andre Levrone, who watched from the stands as his wife made history, expressed his deep admiration in a heartfelt note. Reflecting on her journey, he praised her for embodying qualities like class, grace, faith, beauty, and intelligence. He wrote:

Levrone also shared the emotional experience of watching McLaughlin-Levrone break the world record. As reported by the Christian Post, he was overwhelmed by her performance, attributing her success to her relentless work ethic and dedication.
“I’m incredibly proud of her. I can’t even put it into words. There was just sheer emotion coursing through me during the race,” Levrone said. “The hard work she puts into her training is unbelievable. We’re always there encouraging her during practice, but seeing the confidence, trust, and faith she had in God, her work ethic, and her coach’s plan before the race was indescribable. It was beautiful.”
In the women’s 400m hurdles final, McLaughlin-Levrone crossed the finish line in an astounding 50.37 seconds. Anna Cockrell and Femke Bol secured second and third places, finishing with times of 51.87 seconds and 52.15 seconds, respectively.
