Donald Trump is set to expand his golfing empire in Scotland with the opening of a new course at his Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire. Named the MacLeod Course, after his late mother Mary MacLeod, this project is positioned to complement the existing championship course at the resort. The new course, expected to open in 2024, is designed by renowned architect Martin Hawtree, who also worked on the original course at the Menie Estate. The Trump Organization aims for the course to host major championships in the future.
Construction began in 2023, and Trump has expressed pride in the development, citing the unique landscape and breathtaking views as major selling points. The environmentally-conscious design is a standout feature, with sustainable practices in place to minimize the ecological impact on the surrounding dunes and coastal areas. This will be Trump’s second course at the site, further solidifying Scotland as a premier global golf destination.
