The Philadelphia Eagles could be set for a rebound season after a disappointing end to their previous campaign. Despite a strong start at 10-1, the Eagles faltered, losing five of their last six regular-season games and getting knocked out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 32-9, in the wild-card round.
With new additions such as star running back Saquon Barkley, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, and promising rookie cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, the Eagles are favored by many to top the NFC East this season.
Ahead of the season opener, the Eagles have made some roster moves: tight end Kevin Foelsch and safety Caden Sterns have been released, while offensive lineman Jack Driscoll and wide receiver Kyle Philips have been signed. Foelsch, an undrafted free agent from the University of New Haven, had just joined the Eagles’ practice squad two days before his release. Sterns, a fifth-round pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, played one game for the Denver Broncos last season but has struggled with knee injuries and has been cut four times in the past month.
Driscoll, who spent four seasons with the Eagles, was recently let go by the Miami Dolphins after joining them in March. Philips, previously with the Tennessee Titans, was released last week due to an i
njury.
