Former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo recently pled guilty in an Indiana courtroom following a January arrest involving drug paraphernalia and a firearm found in his vehicle. While carrying a firearm is legal in Indiana, Rondo is prohibited from doing so due to a non-contact order stemming from a 2022 incident. In that case, Rondo was accused of pointing a gun at his then-girlfriend, Ashley Bachelor, and threatening her life. Although the charges were dropped after an agreement between Rondo and Bachelor, the court still deemed him unfit to carry a firearm legally.
Rondo was initially charged with three counts: possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and illegally carrying a handgun. However, the drug-related charges were dropped. Despite being sentenced to 180 days in jail, Rondo’s sentence was suspended, and he will serve probation instead.
Rondo, a two-time NBA champion and four-time All-Star, played 16 seasons in the NBA, last appearing with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022.
