“Ex-Thunder Star Andre Roberson Takes a Bold Leap, Signs First-Ever Overseas Deal with Cholet Basket!”

Posted on September 5, 2024

Andre Roberson is set to return to professional basketball, making his debut overseas with Cholet Basket, a French club, for the upcoming season.

At 32, Roberson spent the past year without a team but showcased his skills in various events, including the Dubai International Tournament with the Philippines club alongside Andray Blatche and Dwight Howard, and the TBT Tournament with the Colorado Alumni team.

Roberson’s most recent play came during the 2022-23 season in the G League with the Oklahoma City Blue. In 14 games, he averaged 19.4 minutes, 5.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Roberson previously signed a 3-year, $30 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017 but suffered a left patellar tendon rupture in January 2018, sidelining him for the rest of the season. He returned to the NBA on August 1, 2020, after a two-year hiatus and later played for the Brooklyn Nets in 2021, his last NBA team to date.

Before his injuries, Roberson was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2017. Over his NBA career, he averaged 4.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game across 307 games.
