LIV Golf Players at the Open Championship: Performance Recap

Eighteen LIV Golf players participated in the Open Championship at Royal Troon, making up over 10 percent of the field. This marked one of the largest groups from the Saudi-backed league in a major this year. Eleven of them made the cut, including past major winners Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka.

### Top Performers

**Jon Rahm**
Jon Rahm was the highest finisher among the LIV players, tying for seventh place. He surged up the leaderboard on Sunday with a 3-under 68 but couldn’t secure his third major title. His rounds were 73-70-72-68. This was Rahm’s best major finish of the season, following a withdrawal from the U.S. Open due to a toe infection, a missed cut at the PGA Championship, and a T45 at the Masters. Rahm was the only LIV player to finish under par for the week.

**John Catlin**
John Catlin was the second-highest LIV finisher, tying for 16th place. He shot an even-par 71 in the final round to end at 2-over overall, with rounds of 76-70-69-71.

**Dean Burmester**
Dean Burmester finished T19. Despite being in contention after two rounds, a poor Round 3 hindered his performance. He completed the tournament with rounds of 71-69-76-71. Burmester also participated in the PGA Championship and U.S. Open, posting his best finish at Valhalla with a T12 and solo 69th at Pinehurst No. 2.

**Laurie Canter**
Laurie Canter finished T22 at 5-over, with rounds of 71-74-70-74.

**Dustin Johnson**
Dustin Johnson tied for 31st at 6-over. He had a rough season, making the cut only twice in four majors. His rounds were 74-69-72-75. Johnson missed the cut at Augusta and the U.S. Open, with his best finish being T43 at the PGA Championship.

**Brooks Koepka**
