Scottie Scheffler is proving to be an unstoppable force in the world of golf, aiming for his fourth PGA Tour victory in his last five starts at the RBC Heritage. Fresh off his second green jacket win at the Masters Tournament, Scheffler’s performance has been nothing short of stellar. In fact, he hasn’t failed to shoot under par this year, extending his streak to 38 consecutive rounds with his impressive 8-under 63 at Harbour Town on Saturday.
With such a remarkable record, it’s challenging to find any fault with Scheffler’s game—unless you’re Justin Thomas.
.@JustinThomas34 and @dottie_pepper agree – Scottie Scheffler is weird for using high-numbered golf balls.

Thomas, currently ranked No. 30 in the world, couldn’t resist poking fun at Scheffler’s choice of golf ball numbers during a guest appearance on the CBS broadcast. It seems Scheffler exclusively opts for high-numbered golf balls, a quirk that caught Thomas’s attention.
“Does anybody else think it’s weird that Scottie uses high numbers?” Thomas quipped. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an elite player use high-numbered golf balls.”
Even CBS interviewer Amanda Balionis and on-course reporter Dottie Pepper couldn’t help but notice the unconventional choice.
As Thomas playfully mused about Scheffler’s strategy, he couldn’t ignore the glaring gap between their performances.
“I’ve been going about this wrong my whole life,” Thomas joked, realizing the disparity between himself and Scheffler.
