Jon Rahm, the esteemed Spanish golfer, recently shared his disappointment at missing out on the WM Phoenix Open but expressed hope for a return in the future. Despite his absence, Rahm reflected on his past successes, notably finishing third at TPC Scottsdale last year, marking his fifth consecutive top-ten finish of the 2022–23 season.
Transitioning to LIV Golf for a reported $550 million after the PGA Tour season concluded, Rahm acknowledged the difficulty of watching events like the WM Phoenix Open pass by while he remained sidelined. Speaking at the pre-event press conference for the LIV Golf Las Vegas tournament, Rahm emphasized the emotional toll of missing out on tournaments like Torrey Pines and Phoenix.
While Rahm expressed a desire to return to these events in the future, his current focus remains on LIV Golf Las Vegas. With eight appearances at TPC Scottsdale, Rahm’s track record includes five top-ten finishes, showcasing his prowess on the course.
The 2024 WM Phoenix Open, set to tee off on February 8 at TPC Scottsdale, will not be a Signature event this year, offering a reduced prize pool of $8.8 million. Despite the change in status, the competition is expected to be fierce, with 132 players vying for the top spot and a $1.58 million winner’s purse.
Meanwhile, Rahm will be in Las Vegas this week for the LIV Golf Las Vegas tournament at the Las Vegas Country Club. With a staggering $25 million prize pool, Rahm aims to build on his recent success, having secured a third-place finish individually at the LIV Golf Mayakoba event and clinched victory for his team, Legion XIII, alongside teammates Tyrrell Hatton, Kieran Vincent, and Caleb Surratt.
