Jon Rahm will be participating in the Andalucía Masters at Sotogrande Golf / Marina in Spain this week. As the Spanish golfer competes in his home country, he is committing to a charitable initiative by donating $1,000 for every birdie and $2,000 for every eagle he makes during the DP World Tour event. This effort is part of Rahm’s plan to assist families affected by recent hurricanes.
Rahm’s caddie, Adam Hayes, shared details about this initiative on Instagram, mentioning Rahm’s dedication to helping hurricane survivors. In his post, Hayes tagged Rahm, Legion XIII, and others, writing about the golfer’s desire to contribute to relief efforts.
“This week is a home game for RAHMBO, but our hearts and our thoughts are with the thousands of families devastated by the Hurricanes,” Hayes wrote. “Although we will be doing our best to win, the goal is to make as many birdies and eagles as we can. For every Birdie, we will each be donating $1,000, and for every Eagle, $2,000. Feel free to join in with us and support these folks!”
Hayes further explained that the funds raised would be donated to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization actively providing aid to local families in western North Carolina affected by the hurricanes. He also mentioned the option for individuals to donate via Venmo to support local families directly. Hayes emphasized their personal involvement, stating that he and his wife are working closely with families to provide support through the winter and help them rebuild their lives.
Rahm will compete in the Andalucía Masters from October 17 to October 20, a tournament with a total purse of €3,250,000.
