Nixon, confident in his pre-game analysis, stated that Mahomes’ knee tap served as a signal to execute a specific play involving two receivers. Mahomes, however, laughed off the suggestion, asserting, “First time I’ve checked that play in my history of playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.” Despite denying the claim, Mahomes acknowledged Nixon’s excellent play and the impact it had on the game.
