PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Suns are heading to Michigan to face off against the Detroit Pistons in an exciting preseason matchup on Oct. 8! The game will take place at the Breslin Center on the Michigan State University campus, marking the Suns’ first-ever visit to East Lansing.
This game holds extra significance as it will be the first preseason game hosted by the Pistons at the Breslin Center in 24 years. For Suns and Mercury owner Mat Ishbia, a Michigan State alum and former member of the 2000 NCAA Championship team, it’s a special homecoming.
Ishbia reflected on the moment, saying, “From walking on at Michigan State to now bringing the Phoenix Suns to play at Breslin Center, this is a full circle moment. MSU and Coach Izzo have had a profound impact on my life and career, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that mentorship. I’m excited to unite the Spartan community and the Phoenix Suns.”
Adding to the reunion, Pistons owner Tom Gores is also a proud Michigan State alum, making this game a celebration for both franchises and Spartan fans.
Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. Arizona time, and fans can catch all the action live on Arizona’s Family and via Suns Live streaming.
