Magdalena Fręch will start the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami from the second round. The first rival of the Polish woman was Elena-Gabriela Ruse. The Romanian underwent qualifications and then unexpectedly defeated the Russian Polina Kudermetova 6:1, 6:7(5), 6:2.

The Polish woman had to wait for who would be her first opponent. On Tuesday (March 18), there was a duel of potential rivals. In it, Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, who had previously undergone qualifications, unexpectedly beat the above-mentioned Russian Polina Kudermetova 6:1, 6:7(5), 6:2.

Ruse entered the game brilliantly, because it immediately recorded a breakthrough. Although Kudermetova immediately replied, after a while she lost the service again (1:2). From that moment, the Russian did not play anything both with her own application and with her rival, losing 1:6.

The second set started Kudermetov with a strong strike, winning the first three games, including two at the opponent’s service. As a result, however, Ruse responded and then there was a 3:3 draw.

However, the Russian woman broke again and a moment later led 5:3. When she served at the closure of the party, she lost her application (5:5). In the end, there was a tie-break, in which the Romaniana turned out to be 5-2. From that moment, the Kudermetwa concert began, which eventually triumphed 7-5, leading to the decisive set.

In it, Ruse performed on concerts, because she won the first five gems and led with an advantage of as many as three breaks. However, she did not take the opportunity to win 6-0. The Russian woman still fought, but eventually lost 2:6.

As Bartosz Ignacik from Canal+ Sport reported, Fręch will start the tournament on Thursday. After four consecutive defeats, our tennis player will face Ruse for the third time in her career, which she beat on a meal in 2020, and two years later they lost on the hard court.
