US golfer Nelly Korda is currently enjoying a break from competitive golf, but she’s still keeping her fans updated through social media. Known for sharing travel moments, anecdotes, selfies, memes, and more, the Florida native recently took to Instagram to post a humorous meme shared by the Sarasota Police Department.
Sarasota is currently bracing for Tropical Storm Milton, which is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane. This comes while the area is still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. To lighten the mood amid the tense situation, the Sarasota Police Department posted a reel poking fun at the weather forecast. The caption read, “Sarasota watching the latest forecast like…” followed by a crying emoji. The reel featured a local police car with a GIF of actor Kevin Hart crying superimposed on it.
Korda reshared the reel on her Instagram story, adding her own comment: “Not again,” along with a frustrated emoji, expressing her exasperation with the challenging weather conditions in Sarasota.
Nelly Korda “Trying to Beat” the Rain During Practice
Nelly Korda has had a demanding few months, competing in several back-to-back tournaments. Although she is currently on a break from competitive golf, her 2024 season is not over yet. Korda, ranked World No. 1, is scheduled to compete in the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea at the end of this month. She also has a few more tournaments lined up before the season concludes, so even in her downtime, she’s been practicing.
During one of her recent practice sessions, Korda encountered an unexpected challenge: the rainy weather. In an early morning Instagram story, she shared a video of herself hitting a golf shot at 7:19 a.m. under stormy skies. She captioned the post, “Trying to beat the (rains),” using a rain cloud emoji to highlight the bad weather. A cluster of golf balls was seen next to her as she teed off.
Florida, Korda’s home state, has been experiencing severe weather recently. After the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, the Southeastern USA, including Augusta National in Georgia, is now preparing for Tropical Storm Milton, which is expected to intensify in the coming days.
