Two former Green Bay Packers players have made it to the semi-finals for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2024. The announcement by the Hall of Fame included a list of 25 players, from which the final selection will be narrowed down to 15 at a later date.
The former Packers players in contention are Julius Peppers, who played as a defensive end for the Packers from 2014 to 2016, and Jahri Evans, a right guard who joined the team in 2017 for his final NFL season.
Julius Peppers, a veteran with a notable career with the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears before joining Green Bay, signed a three-year, $30 million contract in 2014. During his time with the Packers, Peppers made a significant impact on the team’s defense, contributing to their playoff appearances in each of the three years he played. Peppers, a NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, boasts nine Pro Bowl selections and is honored in the Carolina Panthers Hall of Honor.
Jahri Evans, an accomplished player with a successful tenure with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Packers in 2017, played as a right guard for 14 games in his final NFL season. Over his illustrious career, Evans started in all 183 games he appeared in, achieving accolades such as a Super Bowl Champion, six-time Pro Bowler, and induction into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame.
Both Peppers and Evans have left lasting impressions on the football field, and their contributions are now being considered for the prestigious Pro Football Hall of Fame. The final selection process will determine whether these former Green Bay Packers will secure a spot among the football legends in the class of 2024.
