Rory McIlroy, one of golf’s biggest names, has recently teamed up with Operation 36 and GolfPass for an exciting new venture aimed at nurturing emerging golfing talent. This collaboration marks a significant step in the development of personalized training programs for aspiring golfers.
GolfPass, a membership platform known for its exclusive golf content, including instructional videos, has joined forces with McIlroy and Operation 36—a program designed to help golfers progressively improve their skills. The partnership was announced on Instagram by GolfPass, where they tagged McIlroy, Operation 36, and a few other key figures involved in the initiative, including NBC Sports host Lauren Thompson, who is also contributing to the project.
The new program, titled “Rory x Operation 36,” offers a customized approach to golf training, catering to both beginners and seasoned players. The initiative aims to help golfers advance through different skill levels at their own pace, guided by personalized plans. GolfPass has encouraged members to explore this new offering, which is now available on their platform.
Following this announcement, McIlroy continued his 2024 season with a series of notable performances in major tournaments. He competed in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, where he finished tied for 21st place with a score of 1-under 287. His next appearance was at The Players Championship, where he achieved a tie for 19th place.
McIlroy then moved on to the Valero Texas Open, securing a tie for 3rd place with an impressive 11-under 277. At the prestigious Masters Tournament, he finished tied for 22nd place, recording a 4-over 292. His participation in the RBC Heritage saw him finish tied for 33rd with a score of 7-under 277.
One of McIlroy’s standout moments this season was his victory at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he delivered an outstanding performance with rounds of 67, 68, 67, and 65. He followed this up with a solid showing at the PGA Championship, finishing tied for 12th with a score of 12-under 272.
Continuing his strong form, McIlroy competed at the RBC Canadian Open, finishing tied for 4th with scores of 66, 72, 65, and 64 across the four rounds. At the Memorial Tournament, he secured a tie for 15th place with a score of 2-over 290. His performance at the US Open was particularly noteworthy, where he finished as the runner-up. However, McIlroy faced a rare setback at The Open Championship, where he missed the cut—the only time he has done so this year. Despite this, he bounced back with a tie for 5th place at the Olympics. His participation in the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first event of the FedEx Cup playoff series, saw him finish tied for 68th place with a score of 9-over 289. This result was crucial as it determined the top 50 golfers eligible for the next round, the BMW Championship.
