At the final press conference held at the Studio Ballroom at MGM Grand on September 12, the fighters featured on the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga event previewed their upcoming bouts. The fight card, set to air live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 14 during Mexican Independence Day weekend, includes an exciting lineup of matchups.

In the main event, Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez will defend his unified WBC, WBO, and WBA super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga, the undefeated contender from Brooklyn, New York.

The co-main event features Cuba’s WBA middleweight champion, Erislandy Lara, who will put his title on the line against Philadelphia’s former two-division champion, Danny “Swift” Garcia. Also on the card, former super middleweight champion Caleb Plant from Nashville will face off against Trevor McCumby of Yorkville, Illinois, for the division’s interim WBA belt. In the PPV opener, Las Vegas’ former champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero takes on Stockton’s Manuel Jaimes at super lightweight.

Among the prelims, Philadelphia’s former super bantamweight champion, Stephen Fulton, will clash with Mexico’s Carlos Castro at featherweight. Additionally, Colombian welterweight contender Roiman Villa will meet Mexico’s Ricardo Salas, while Orlando-based Jonathan Lopez goes head-to-head with San Antonio’s Richard Medina at super featherweight.
