Biles was there to cheer on world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in her quarterfinal match against Jessica Pegula. Despite her support for the top-seeded Polish player, Swiatek lost to the American in straight sets. “Me and my husband are huge fans of Iga, so getting the chance to watch her in action is such an honor,” Biles shared.
When asked which tennis player might excel as a gymnast, the 4-foot-8 Olympic star admitted she was surprised by the height of tennis players. “Honestly, they’re taller than I expected. But maybe Coco [Gauff] could be a good gymnast,” she mused.
After a busy schedule leading up to the Paris Olympics, Biles is finally enjoying some downtime, making time to support fellow athletes. “I’ve always wanted to attend the U.S. Open, but never had the chance. Now that I have a little free time, I’m thrilled to be here,” she said.
