Christmas returned to this situation at a press conference ahead of the tournament in Stuttgart, which began on Monday, April 14. The Polish woman admitted that this was disturbing, especially in the context of even more aggressive posts that had previously appeared on social media.
– Well, I wouldn’t call it a threat, because it wasn’t that strong. I mean, there was a supporter who wanted to disrupt my rhythm. Well, I’m trying to focus on the fans who support me. But of course, when you hear something like this, you want to react,” she said. A moment later, she appreciated the WTA’s performance in ensuring its safety.
“I think the WTA helped us, it helped me feel like I’m protected. In fact, what I heard was not a threat, but I think there were some threats on the internet. So the WTA helped me react quickly and made me feel safe,” she said.
