The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-13 on Monday Night Football. Despite playing without their No. 1 wide receiver and top running back, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Co. still found a way to get the win. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce recorded a season-high nine receptions for 70 yards. Wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who tallied just two catches in four games, led the offense with seven receptions for 130 yards in Week 5. Running back Kareem Hunt leveled the Saints defense with 27 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown while rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy scored rushing touchdown. Cheering on the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 7, Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift. After the game, Swift met up with Chariah Gordon, wide receiver Mecole Hardman’s fiancée.
Gordon asked the pop star, “How do you feel after this win,” and Swift tried to deflect. However, after Gordon said she’s feeling good heading into the bye week undefeated, Swift couldn’t help but chime in.
“Perfect is the word,” Swift said, and both women started laughing after the “Blank Space” singer realized they were filming the video in front a photo of herself. Fans loved seeing the 14-time Grammy winner discussing football. One fan posted on X, “taylor swift saying ‘we’re going into a bye week’ scratches my brain so so perfectly.” One man wrote, “It’s so hearing Taylor say some football terms so casually.” While Swift’s friendship with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, gets a lot of attention, fans love the bond between Gordon and Swift. One fan commented, “I love this friendship! They are so cute.” Another person posted, “Taylor hasn’t done interviews in forever but she’s down for one with Chariah lol.”
Unfortunately, this game marked the last Chiefs matchup Swift will attend for quite some time.
As noted, the Chiefs are on bye in Week 6 before traveling to Levi’s Stadium to face the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20. As for Swift, the final leg of her “Eras” concert tour kicks off in Miami on October 18, where she has three straight nights of shows before the tour moves on to New Orleans.
