Former President Donald Trump is fuming after Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris last week, leading to a bold declaration on his Truth Social platform.
“I hate Taylor Swift!” Trump wrote in all capital letters on Sunday, his entire post consisting of just those four words.
Swift, who has largely avoided direct political endorsements, made her support for Harris clear following the presidential debate, writing in an Instagram post, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Trump’s post comes after he previously shared AI-generated images of “Swifties for Trump” and a caricature of the singer showing her supposed support for him. Swift, addressing those images in her endorsement, said they helped her realize she needed to be transparent about her actual political stance.
In an interview with “Fox & Friends,” Trump responded to Swift’s endorsement by warning she will “pay a price for it in the marketplace,” and added that he was never a fan of the pop star.
The Harris campaign fired back with a statement cleverly packed with Taylor Swift song references. “Donald Trump’s week of whining and spouting conspiracy theories has voters on both sides of the aisle ready to Forget That He Existed,” spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said. “The American people want to be Out of the Woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the Blank Space of Trump’s broken promises, and Begin Again by electing Vice President Harris to ensure America’s future of opportunity is Long Lived.”
