**US Team Has ‘Unfinished Business’ with Europe – Korda**
Nelly Korda, the world number one golfer, believes the United States has “unfinished business” as they look to prevent Europe from winning a record fourth consecutive Solheim Cup.
The 19th edition of this transatlantic competition begins on Friday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. The U.S. team will be aiming to claim their first victory since winning 16½-11½ at Des Moines seven years ago.
Korda is particularly driven this time, recalling her 2&1 loss to Carlota Ciganda, which helped Europe retain the trophy at Finca Cortesin last year.
“Whenever you get to wear the red, white, and blue and the stars and stripes, it carries a special significance,” Korda said. “You’re playing not just for yourself, but for your captains, teammates, and country, and there’s nothing quite like it. We’ve got some unfinished business.”
Korda enters the competition as the top name in women’s golf after a remarkable 2024 season. The 26-year-old won the Chevron Championship in April and secured six victories in total on the LPGA Tour this year.
Despite her individual success, Korda has yet to experience victory in the Solheim Cup. She also played in the U.S. team’s losses at Gleneagles in 2019 and the Inverness Club in 2021.
“Although I haven’t been on the winning side, every Solheim Cup experience has been amazing,” added Korda, who practiced alongside Allisen Corpuz on Tuesday.
